Summer 1 June 27

Tomorrow is the 100th Anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.  The event that is considered to be the spark that started WWI.  I read something recently that the Archduke's presence in Sarajevo on that particular day was quite provocative as it was a day closely associated with Serbian independence.
In remembrance of WWI, I  have been working on tanks from that war for the Miniatures Club's game, Wooden Armor.  The Mark IV tank is ready to glue up.  The Renault tank needs some re gluing as my prototype came apart.  At least it had the decency to do it in the lay out phase rather than when I had it in the band saw.  The A7V is giving some problems and though it is from just a hunk of 4x4, is the furthest from finished.  I think some time with a belt sander will speed this up.  Pictures are waiting for a battery charger for my camera as I have put the original charger in an extremely safe place.
I am taking a class on technology for teaching.  It is an awfully large amount of work for one unit.  I am pleased that I seem to have incorporated many of the techniques mentioned in the book.  This blog is one of them.
I will try to get to the school woodshop the week after the 4th.  If you have an interest, send me an email so I can put you on my last minute notification list.
