The second full moon in a month is called a blue moon.  Tonight is a blue moon.  Once in a blue moon people come along that are quiet and considered but have great impact on the world around us.  Yesterday, a man named Leigh Weimers, a former columnist for The San Jose Mercury News and community commentator, passed away.  His insightful commentary on the local news station KLIV was a joy to listen to and while I never met him, it was comforting to know that he and I espoused some of the same causes. 

Miniatures Club - I am looking at purchasing some WWI aeroplanes from Shapeways.com.  This is the 3D printing company I bought some planes from last year.  I am looking at rounding out our collection of regular planes and adding some esoteric ones and some multi engined bombers.  If you see something you think we should have, let me know. Look for the designers: kampfflieger  and colinwe.  Matt, they do not have SPAD XII's yet.

Miniatures Club  I am looking for any number of high school students to assist in setting up fleets for next week's first club meeting.  I also need you to show up to teach new members how to play this game.  This would really be nice to do with a document camera but the district is dragging it's heels and giving our office staff a run around.

Miniatures Club this Friday.  If you are a returning player please come by to help set up for our first activity which will be Pirates.  I need you to come and get this set up so we can welcome any new members the following Friday.  Mr. Realini wants to have a tournament so we need to train the newbies.  I need people to come and set up or we won't be able to start on the first Friday in September.

Miniatures Club  We are having a small gathering this week.  Watch for info next Wednesday about the Friday before Labor Day (I am going to Santa Rosa then so Maybe on Friday Aug 31)

It looks like Mr Realini and I will not be coaching girls softball this year so we should be able to start Miniatures sooner

I need to update you on my trip to Kentucky but that will be over a weekend.
