1 Trimester 3 Agenda and Journal check (This has been posted all week on the daily agenda on the board)
2 Watch Mrs Messner's and Dr Louris' classes launch. This year, Mrs Messner had 2 groups hit the middle of Mary.Ave. We will probably turn down the pressure regulator next year but WOW that was something.
May 21 is Mr Realini's retire party. I made him (with tremendous help for Mr Whited) a bat house for his back yard in Morgan Hill.

Agenda May 16
1 Water Bottle Rocket Project Day 1
If Periods 4, 5, and 6 do not bring in enough 2 liter bottles tomorrow, then they will start on a different project which will be due on Friday. The Straw Rocket Project conforms to so many of the new standards as well as the existing standards. A mixture of old school and new school. (editorial comment: Is new school just old school in a new wrapper?)

1 Test Chapters 12, 14, and 15
Agenda and Journal check on Friday, May 20
Return textbooks
Still bring 2L bottles for Water Bottle Rocket Project. As of this writing, P2 and P3 have enough bottles. P4 has zero. P5 has 3 and P6 has 2.
Lab groups should be thinking about a nose cone weight and what they will use. Something with the mass of a baseball or softball works well.

1 Diagnostic Test. Remember that test you took in August that you had no idea about why you were taking a test? This is that same test. How much did you learn? I am certain quite alot.
No matter how you did, look at the chapters you were having questions and do a quick pre reading to review for the STAR tests on Monday and Tuesday.

While today is Cinco de Mayo (remember 1862?), it is also the birthday of the singer Adelle (28), the Big Mac (way over 40) and the day the first no hitter was pitched in baseball by Cy Young (1904). It is also Revenge of the Fifth day for those who missed Star Wars Day yesterday.
1 Activity: Model of Planets' Orbits (or Fun with Ellipses)
2 Activity: How do Astronomers Measure Distance to Stars? (or "cover your left eye and read line three")
We have not received any 2L bottles yet for the Water Bottle Rocket Project. Please get those in soon.

Today I wore my BB-8 pin. 1st graders at my daughter's school call him (it?) Baby 8.
Today was the Teacher Appreciation Lunch or as I call it, Food Coma Day. There were great selections and I clearly did not eat enough bacon. Still, I manged to go all day and night without anymore food. It is the morning of the 5th and I am still not particularly hungry. I also won a bottle of wine from the raffle and managed to trade it for an iTunes gift card.
Thanks to all the parents who donated items and food. We all appreciated it.
